Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her distinctive hairstyle and her pumped up personality, explains simple techniques that anyone can master. Chef Burrell was employed at New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine practices and the environment. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up in New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was where she studied following her graduation with an English degree as well as a communications certificate at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I was awed by every moment." I was never able to study or accomplish enough. After graduating, chef Burrell resided in Italy for one year studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) in Tuscany. While in Italy, Chef Burrell acquired an appreciation for and appreciation for Italian food. This had an enormous influence on her perception of food. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists kids who have challenges. As a guest speaker and mentor Burrell travels throughout the United States to discuss her love for cooking and profession. Anne has said throughout her professional career she is incredibly fortunate to be able share with others what is most important for her.
